What Are Rashtriya Military Schools?
Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) are English-medium residential public schools run by the Ministry of Defence for preparing cadets academically and for future defence service and leadership roles. Admissions are offered into Class VI and Class IX based on a common entrance test.
There are five RMS located at:
- Chail (Himachal Pradesh)
- Ajmer (Rajasthan)
- Dholpur (Rajasthan)

Key Admission & Exam Dates (Typical)
- Exam Month: December every year (for next academic year intake) – e.g., RMS CET was held on 7 December 2025 for 2026–27 session.

RMS Common Entrance Test (CET) – Pattern & Syllabus
The entrance test is OMR-based multiple-choice and conducted in English and Hindi (Class 6 usually bilingual; Class 9 often bilingual too).
